Concern has been expressed at the speed of motorists at two busy road junctions in Derry.
As a result, Sinn Féin Councillor Colly Kelly has appealed to motorists to slow down at the two pedestrian crossings at the junctions of Little Diamond, Creggan Street and William Street.
Cllr Kelly said: “The pedestrian crossings at these junctions are always very busy, particularly at peak times of the day. I have been contacted by a number of parents who have asked me to put out an appeal for motorists to slow down at these crossings.”
He concluded: “The crossings are used by children going to local schools, attending William Street Baths and parishioners going to St Eugene’s Cathedral as well as hundreds of people going in and out of the city centre each day.”
