A man and a woman, both aged 41, have been charged with the robbery of a chemist shop in Derry yesterday evening.
The charges relate the robbery of a pharmacy in Great James Street shortly before 5.25pm during which staff were threatened by a man a woman armed with knives.
A quantity of prescription drugs was taken in the raid.
Shortly afterwards, a man and a woman were arrested by police in Westland Street in the Bogside area of the city.
A quantity of prescription drugs and knives were recovered.
No one was injured in the incident although it is believed staff were left badly shaken by their ordeal.
The couple have both been charged with robbery and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place and are due to appear at Derry Magistrates Court this Monday morning.
