It was a case of “no likely… no lighty” once again for Derry girl Gemma Elliott on last night’s TV dating show “Take Me Out.”
The 22-year-old, from the Bishop Street area, will return next Saturday hoping for better luck as she looks for her “Mr Right.”
Just like episode one, the former St Cecilia’s student, turned down the chance to be chosen by any of the four male suitors to go on a “dream date” to the fictitious island of Fernandos – Cyprus.
Last night, Gemma wasted no time in turning her light off on Grant a psychic single dad from Kent.
Muscular Gavin, from Belfast, made a good impression on emerging from the “love lift” but got pushed aside when it was revealed he was “big into” bodybuilding, something Gemma told host Paddy McGuinness she was definitely not into.
Gemma was not put off by the Mohican hair style of Baffoe, a train enthusiast from London, but put the brakes on when she found he had a “post it” habit.
Children’s party planner, Fergus, from Henley – who Gemma described as “Fergulicious” got the “thumbs up” in the first two rounds, the Derry girl revealing she also “did kids’ parties” and hinted the two could join up and “make some more money.”
However, Gemma allowed Fergus to slip on by after hearing he pulled on his “old man’s dressing gown” and slipped into house slippers on returning home from work.
But Gemma, an economics and finance student at Leeds University, knows there is no need to panic as there is another six episodes in the current series.
Next week, she will get to choose from PE teacher Ryan, farmer James, student Travis and Team GB taekwondo athlete Damon.
