Around 4.000 people have attended “Hear the City Sing,” the first of Derry’s City of Culture legacy events.
Former Westlife lead singer Shane Filan was the star attraction, performing three songs during his 15 minute appearance.
Earlier, up and coming local groups Little Bear and The Clameens thrilled the crowd at the event, hosted by BBC Radio One’s Edith Bowman.
The free outdoor concert took place in the Peace Garden/Foyle Street car park adjacent to the Guildhall.
The event was part of the series of legacy projects following the 2013 City of Culture celebrations which will see Yvette Mattern’s Global Rainbow illuminated every night until Tuesday next.
