New Derry City boss Roddy Collins has received a setback to his pre-season preparations with the cancellation of his first game in charge.
Derry were due to travel tomorrow night to play Limavady United in the first pre-season friendly but the game has been called off due to the Showgrounds being unplayable because of the inclement weather.
A disappointed Collins was philosophical about the postponement.
He said: “Obviously I would have preferred to play a game tomorrow evening, but that’s football for you. We can control everything in our surroundings but if the weather is against you there’s not a lot you can do about it.”
Derry’s first pre-season game will now take place on Tuesday night next 28 January when they travel to take on Irish League Premiership club Coleraine on their home patch.
