A 35-year-old man has been arrested by police investigating the robbery of a bingo hall in in Derry.
Strand Road police station.
The incident occurred around 11.40pm on Friday night last when a masked man pushed his way into the premises at Pennyburn Indusrtrial Estate and, following a struggle with a female member of staff, made off with a cash box containing a sum of money.
The robber made off in a red coloured car that was being driven by a second man.
The member of staff was not injured but was left shaken by the incident.
It is understood the detained man is being questioned at PSNI headquarters on Strand Road.
