The body of Simon Chase, who died in the attack in Kabul nine days ago, has arrived back in the Co Derry town.

The former British soldier had been working in Afghanistan for the EU police mission. He was among 21 people killed in the attack.

He died when a suicide attacker detonated his explosives outside the gate of a heavily fortified restaurant before two gunmen entered the premises and opened fire on people inside.

He was originally from Liverpool but had been living in Limavady with his partner, Norma McDowell and their two sons.

His funeral will take place on Tuesday at 11.00am at Christ Church, Limavady.
