Derry City manager Roddy Collins’ preparations for the new Airtricity Premiership season have received another setback with the postponement of tonight’s away friendly with Coleraine.
The game had been under threat since Saturday when the Bannsiders’ clash with Ballinamallard was called off due to the Showgrounds pitch being declared unplayable.
Derry have yet to kick a ball pre-season as tonights game is the third to fall foul to the weather – last Tuesday’s clash with Limavady United and this weekend’s match with Newbuildings United have also been postponed.
It means, manager Roddy Collins will have to wait another 10 days to see his Brandywell side in action.
The club has confirmed City’s first home pre-season game will be against Irish League Danske Premiership side Glentoran which will take place at Brandywell on tomorrow fortnight, Tuesday 11 February, kick off 7.45pm.
City’s pre-season schedule is now as follows:
February 7: Institute (away), kick off time to be confirmed
February 11: Glentoran (home), kick off 7.45pm
February 16: Derry and District Select, kick off to be confirmed
March 1: Portadown (away), kick off time to be confirmed
February: Newbuildings FC (away), date and kick off time to be confirmed.
