Residents in Galliagh in Derry have completed surveys examining the need for the provision of gates at alleyways in the area.
Local Sinn Fein Cllr Elisha McCallion said the surveys were carried out by party activists after discussions with local residents.
Thanking residents for taking part, she said the surveys would be presented to the Community Safety Team and Derry City Council.
Cllr McCallion added “Alley gating has been discussed with local residents and we are hoping the process around the provision of gates can be done as speedily as possible.
“It’s been well documented in the past the problems that have been effecting residents in the Galliagh area with small groups being involved in anti-community behaviour at the weekends and terrible effects that is having on the lives of local residents ,particularly elderly residents .”
