Anne-Marie McGurk Head of Midwifery at the Trust, said: “We are delighted that our service has been recognised in this way. It is a great achievement to have reached the top 10% of maternity providers and we are proud of the quality of care we deliver.”

Elaine Way, Chief Executive of the Western Trust, Elaine Way, said: “We are delighted to be shortlisted for the 2014 award by CHKS for Excellence in Maternity Care. To be considered as one of the best NHS Trusts in the UK who provide maternity care to patients is an immense honour and should provide assurance about the quality of service we provide. ”

Jason Harries, Managing Director, CHKS said: “These hospital Trusts should be congratulated on reaching the final fifteen and for the quality of maternity services that they provide. This rigorous analysis will be followed by further assessment by a panel of experts and three trusts will be selected to receive the excellence in maternity care award.”

The CHKS Top Hospital Awards celebrate the success of healthcare providers, recognising acute organisations that have excelled in areas of patient safety, data quality, quality of care and new for 2014, excellence in maternity care.
