Derry Sinn Féin Councillor Mickey Cooper is to meet with meeting with DRD Road Service to raise a number of concerns of elderly residents of a sheltered housing scheme in the city.
Describing the meeting he has secured as “good news” for the residents of Lavery Fold on Asylum Road, Cllr Cooper said: “The area around their homes is always very busy during the day with the Social Security office across the street and they would get a lot traffic traveling through the area going into the city centre.
“This has led to problems for residents being able to cross the road in safety ,the need for the introduction of dropped kerbs and a number of other issues and ideas residents want to raise.”
Cllr Cooper concluded: “I will inform residents of when the meeting is taking place and hopefully we can collectively come up with a couple of solutions to resolve these issues.”
