Derry schoolchildren have been learning the history The Holocaust – the state-sponsored persecution and murder of approximately six million Jews – at series of events in the city’s Tower Museum.
Pupils from schools across the city have attended Holocaust workshops hosted by Derry City Council’s Heritage and Museum Service.
Events included a Holocaust Memorial Day which featured the screening of the documentary film, “Through the Eye of a Needle,” which featured interviews with Holocaust survivor Esther Nisenthal Krintz.
The screening was followed by a short question and answer session chaired by Textile Art curator, Roberta Bacic. Admission is free and refreshments will be served afterwards.
