Residents have been allowed to return to their homes after a security alert was declared a hoax.
Families in the Crannog Park area of Strathfoyle outside Derry were evacuated following the discovery of a suspicious device earlier today.
Army bomb experts were called to examine the object which was later declared to a hoax.
Meanwhile, police have confirmed a crude pipe bomb type device was at the centre of a security alert at a GAA club in the Co Antrim village of Ahoghill.
The device, which detonated overnight on the grounds of Clooney Gaels GAA on the Crosskeys Road, caused scorch damage to the outside wall of a building on the grounds, and broke a window.
Police said the remains of the device had been taken away for examination.
