Work is to begin next week on a new paving and resurfacing scheme at Clarence Avenue in Derry, Sinn Fein Councillor Mickey Cooper has said.
The work, to begin on Monday next 17 February, will include the replacement of footpaths, resurfacing of roads, planting and removal of new and unsafe trees and replacement of broken cobbles and other damaged items
Welcoming confirmation that the work was to begin, Cllr Cooper said: “The refurbishment, for which I had been lobbying Roads Service for several years along with residents will begin next Monday, 17 February.”
He added: “I would urge both motorists and pedestrians to show due and attention whilst this work is taking place.”
