Tonight’s pre-season friendly at the Brandywell between Derry City and Glentoran has been called off.
The decision to cancel the game – which was to have been a fundraiser for former City striker Mark Farren who is receiving treatment for a brain tumour – has been taken with more snow forecast for later today.
It is another blow for new Derry manager Roddy Collins’ preparations for the upcoming Airtricity Premiership season – games against Limavady United, Coleraine and Newbuildings also fell foul to the weather last month.
No alternative date or time has been fixed for this game.
City are due to take on a Derry and District select this weekend, with a date and time to be confirmed.
