The family of an English visitor who died in Derry after falling ill during a visit to the city, have thanked staff for the treatment during his stay there.
John Roberts, from Hertfordshire, passed away after falling ill while visiting a local family.
His wife, Maureen, and her children, Paul, Neil, Sarah, Karena and Simon, along their grandchildren, Macey and Erin, held a fundraising night in memory of John who was treated in Ward 43 of Altnagelvin.
They said the fundraiser, held in England with the support of John’s work and golfing colleagues, was in appreciation of the treatment he received while on the ward.
Picture shows Ward 43 Staff Nurse Stephanie Devlin receiving a cheque for £1,500, the proceeds of the fundraiser, from Maureen Roberts, Adrian and Niamh McMenamin (John’s brother and niece).
Included is Robert Arthur, Support Nurse on Ward 43.
