Gardaí investigating the murder of Derry man Andrew Allen have arrested a man in his 40s.
A Garda spokesperson said the man was arrested in Co Donegal and was being detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act, 1939 at Buncrana Garda Station in Inishowen,
The arrest came just hours after Gardai said they knew the identity of the killers.
Mr Allen (24), a father of two originally from the Waterside area of Derry, was shot dead on 9 February 2012 at a house at Links View, Lisfannon outside Buncrana.
His partner, who was in the house at the time, escaped injury when shots were fired through a downstairs window.
The Derry-based paramilitary group RAAD (Republican Action Against Drugs) claimed responsibility for the killing. His family have always denied the claims he was a drug dealer.
The man currently being detained is the third person to be arrested by police investigating the killing. Two men previously arrested were released without charge.
