Derry has been put on “amber alert” a with storm set to blow in with winds of up to 80mph.
An amber warning is the second highest of the severe weather alerts and means to be prepared for disruption.

Bus and train passengers are being advised to check Translink’s Ulsterbus website for the latest travel updates.
The Met Office is predicting gusts of 70 mph with 80 mph along the coast with the main swathe of very strong winds moving across Northern Ireland and into the far southwest of Scotland this evening, before easing overnight.
A Met Office spokesperson said: “The public should be prepared for the the risk of disruption to transport and possibly also power supplies. In addition, large waves are likely to affect some western coasts.”
