Strabane is all set to hold its first Gay Pride Festival.
Themed “Coming Out,” the three day event which gets under way tomorrow and is being organised by the town’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) group.
The festival will be launched tomorrow with a health awareness open day at the local LGBT centre on Railway Street which will be followed by the premiere of the play “So Here We Are,” written by local writer and drama student, Jenny Patton, which will follow the launch.
Described as a humorous but touching play, it is based on true experiences of LGBT people in the Strabane community.
A Blind Date hosted by the Foyle Follies in the Central Bar tomorrow night.
Sunday will feature a free private screening of “Imagine You and Me” in Lifford’s Eclipse Cinema ahead of the End of Festival Party with DJ Ricardo in the Central Bar which will feature bar bingo with a twist and a chance to win a holiday for two to Spain.
