Police in Derry are asking for the public’s assistance in tracing the rider of a scrambler bike who drove round the Galliagh area endangering the life of a one year old toddler on board.
A PSNI spokesperson said the Foyle City North Neighbourhood Team was appealing for information after a male was seen riding a yellow and black scrambler through Fergleen Park and Bracken Park around 2.30pm on Wednesday last.
The rider was carrying a small child, approximately one year old, between his legs at the time.
The PSNI spokesperson said: “Aside from the icy conditions that day, this was a completely reckless action that endangered the life of the child.
“The Team is keen to identify the rider who was wearing a red and black biker jacket with a black and white helmet.”
The spokesperson concluded: “The telephone number to ring is 0845 600 8000. Alternatively information can be passed on anonymously through the ‘Crimestoppers’ charity on freephone 0800 555 111.”
