Derry City’s under-19s have been awarded the League of Ireland Under-19 Northern Division title after being granted three points from their drawn game with North West neighbours Finn Harps.
The sides drew their game 1-1, a tie Derry needed to win to clinch the title. However, the Brandywell club have been awarded all three points from the game after as a result of Harps fielding an eligible player.
It means Eddie Seydak’s side leapfrog Dundalk to take top spot.
Both Derry and Dundalk have qualified for the promotion play-off group along with Limerick and Mervue United.
The four sides will play three rounds of games with the top two gaining promotion to the Elite Division.
Derry’s first game in the play-offs saw them draw 1-1 with Dundalk in Oriel Park.
