Police in Derry are appealing for information about an attack on a man in which the victim was punched and kicked as he lay on the ground.
The incident occurred between midnight and 1.00am on Wednesday last, 12 February, when the man was walking along William Street towards the Great James Street area.
PSNI spokesperson said as the man waited in the area, a man crossed the road from the Strand Road area and punched him in the face with both fists.
The spokesperson added: “It is also believed the man kicked the victim while he was on the ground.”
The man is not believed to have sustained any life-threatening injuries.
The PSNI spokesperson said police enquiries were continuing and appealed to anyone who was in the area and saw the incident to contact Strand Road Police Station on 0845 600 8000.
