The teenage Co Kildare girl who had been missing since Wednesday evening has been located safe and well.
Kathryn (17), from Athy, had been missing from her home in Chanterlands, Athy and was believed to have been in the Derry area.
Gardai confirmed she had been found in Northern Ireland but were not prepared to give an exact location.
“Kathryn Holligan has been located safe and well in Northern Ireland,” a statement said.
“No further media action is required. Gardaí wish to thank the public, media and the Police Service of Northern Ireland for their assistance, which is much appreciated.”
There had been a reported sighting of Kathryn in Derry on Thursday afternoon. She was in the company of a boy, who has been described as in his late teens.
