Additional road safety measures are to be put in place at one of the busiest junctions in Derry’s Bogside area.
Sinn Féin Councillor Patricia Logue has welcomed confirmation from Roads Service that additional road safety measures will be put in place at the junction of Brandywell road and Lecky Road.
She said she and local residents had been concerned about cars “cutting the corner” and mount the pavement at the junction.
She added: “I’m delighted that Roads Service will shortly be erecting bollards that will put an end to this practice.”
Cllr Logue concluded: “As a local resident myself I know this will ease the concerns of local parents and grandparents.”
