Two of Derry City’s pre-season friendlies which were called off due to adverse weather conditions have been rescheduled for this week.
The fixtures will delight new manager Roddy Collins as he maintains the build-up to the new Airtricity Premiership season which will kick off away to Shamrock Rovers on Sunday week, 9 March, a game to be televised live on Network 2.
The Candystripes will travel to take on Limavady United at the Co Derry club’s Showgrounds this Wednesday night (kick off 7.45) before playing host to Coleraine at the Brandywell on Saturday next (kick-off 1.00pm).
All proceeds from the match against Coleraine will go to Derry City’s all-tme leading goal scorer Mark Farren who his currently receiving treatment for a brain tumour.
The original fundraiser against Glentoran was called off due to snow.
Derry have been impressive in their pre-season games that have gone ahead so far, recording comfortable wins over Institute, Cliftonville, Finn Harps and a Derry and District FA select.
