The club’s senior and minor teams advanced to the next rounds of the Neil Carlin and Duffy cups respectively after their opposition conceded in both scheduled fixtures at the weekend.
Doire Colmcille’s after-school programme is now in full swing with coaches visiting three local primary schools. The programme includes: St Anne’s Primary School on Mondays; St Patrick’s Pennyburn on Wednesdays and St Ethne’s Primary School on Fridays.
Training times and venues for all Doire Colmcille club teams for the coming months are as follows:
Nursery (4 years – 6 years), St Cecilia’s, Thursdays, 6.15pm to 7pm; under-8 to 12 years, St Cecilia’s, Thursdays, 7pm to 8pm and St Columb’s College indoor, Saturdays, 11-30am to 12.30pm.
Under-14, St Columb’s College 3G pitch, Saturdays, 11am to 12.30pm.
Under-16s, St Columb’s College 3G pitch, Saturdays, 11am to 12.30pm and Brooke Park indoor, Tuesdays, 8pm to 9pm.
Under-18s, Fridays (indoor) 7pm to 8pm.
Seniors, Fridays (indoor) 7pm to 8pm.
New training schedules will be finalised in the coming weeks and notified to players at training.

Doire Colmcille issues a particular invitation to younger players and their parents to get involved in the club, particularly those adjacent to the new club ground at Glen Road. Club members are urged to support the GAA’s national club draw which takes place on St Patrick’s Day. Top prize in the draw is a trip to the 2014 International Rules series in Australia. Other prizes range from All Ireland hurling and football weekend packages to at trip to New York on St Patrick’s Day 2015. Tickets are available from James McQuillan.
