Institute have kept their title hopes alive with a hard fought 2-1 win over Lisburn Distillery in their Championship clash at Drumahoe this afternoon.
Michael McCrudden put the Derry side in the front in the 18th minute.
However, the lead only lasted five minutes as Kris Pike pounced to bring the visitors on terms to send the sides in level at half time.
Stephen Curry got what proved to be the winner in the 66th minute.
The win will delight Stute boss Paul Kee as he had to do without in-form striker Stephen O’Flynn who missed the game due to a groin injury picked up in last week’s away victory over title rivals Bangor.
Today’s win was the Riverside club’s first victory over Lisburn in three attempts having drawn the first league encounter at the start of the season and losing out on a penalty shoot-out in the cup.
