Former US President Bill Clinton has been greeted on his arrival in Derry by Nobel Peace Laureate John Hume.
Mr Clinton will give an address in Guildhall Square at 12.30pm this afternoon in which he will tribute to former SDLP leader.
He will also help launch Peacemaking In The Twenty-First Century, a new book on peacemaking, on behalf of the University of Ulster.
The book features a series of Tip O’Neill lectures, one delivered by President Clinton, at the unversity’s Magee campus in Derry.
Former first lady and US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and former UN secretary-general Kofi Annan have also taken part in the Tip O’Neill Lecture Series.
Today is Mr Clinton’s fifth visit to Derry – he first visited the city in 1995 when he also addressed crowds in the city’s Guildhall Square.
