Derry band The Plantin, originally formed at Foyle View School in the city, are about to set Music City 2014 on fire with their debut EP “Blaze.”
The launch party for the release will take place in the Playhouse at 8.00pm tomorrow night.
The Plantin are six piece rock and pop band whose members are both with and without learning difficulties and through their great talents constantly challenge the stereotypes of people with learning disabilities.
Having previously headlined “Rock and Soul” at the Millennium Forum and rocked the Stendhal Festival last year, the relative newcomers to the scene spent the summer with Neal Calderwood at Manor Park Studios to record some of their best works.
The result is “Blaze,” described as a “soulful blend” of pop and rock with fresh lyrics and vocals to inspire a generation.
Joining the tomorrow night’s party will be acclaimed singer songwriter Paddy Nash and his band of Happy Enchiladas, the wonderful Lady J and Jeanette Hutton who will be performing some of her new works.
Tickets are priced at £7 and you can pay at the door.
“Blaze” is available to buy at Cool Discs, Foyle Street, Derry.
