St Patrick’s and St Joseph’s Primary School in Garvagh has been given the go-ahead to increase the number of pupils on its roll book.
Education Minister John O’Dowd has given the approval for the school to increase its enrolment from 160 to 189 pupils and its admission number from 23 to 27 pupils.
The Minister’s decisions follows an increase in enrolments at the Co Derry school in recent years.
He added: “This proposal aims to meet a rise in demand for places.”
Mr O’Dowd concluded: “Having carefully considered all of the evidence, I am satisfied that approval of this proposal will meet the needs of local children and also have no adverse impact on other schools in the area.”
