Dedicated blood donors were honoured at an event held in Derry last night.
A total of 107 donors from throughout the North West were invited to a Special Gold Badge Awards night held in the White Horse Inn at Campsie.
The event was organised to congratulate them on achieving their Gold Badges and to celebrate almost 3,000 lives they had helped to save.
Paul McElkerney, from the Northern Ireland Blood Transfusion Service, said they were delighted to get the opportunity to thank the donors.
He said their achievement in saving “so many lives,” was “truly amazing” and many people were alive today because of the Gold Badge recipients gave blood regularly.
