The US Army chief who led the secret military squad that captured Saddam Hussein will be in Derry this afternoon to address local business leaders.
General Stanley McChrystal, who was at the helm of American troops during the Afghan war up until 2010, is now recognised as a leading global leadership expert.
He will be the keynote speaker at the Derry Chamber of Commerce’s annual lunch behing held in the City Hotel at 1.00pm.
Since retiring from the US military, General McChrystal has taken a number of leadership positions.
He is a senior fellow at Yale University’s Jackson Institute for Global Affairs, where he teaches a course on “leadership.”
He is the founder and partner of consultancy firm the McChrystal Group and a board member of several major companies, including Siemens Government Systems, where is chairman.
He is also a lead consultant for Seagate, one of Derry’s largest employers.
