Derry businesses and their staff have been praised by the local Chamber of Commerce for their commitment to customer satisfaction and their achievement in becoming Britain’s first ever WorldHost City.
Sinead McLaughlin, Chamber chief executive, said the awarding of the accolade was “fantastic” for the city.
Ms McLaughlin added: “Our city had more than 3,700 employees undergoing training to ensure that customers receive the highest quality customer satisfaction.
“Much of this was put in place to ensure that the City of Culture events would be accompanied by a first class visitor experience.
“Our businesses and their staff rose to the needs of customers brilliantly.”
She concluded: “But much more than this, achieving the title of WorldHost city means that we remain in the best possible position to service visitors well as, hopefully, Derry remains a tourism hot spot this year and into the future.”
