POLICE REVISIT SCENE OF FATAL CRASH

PoliceAccident1-460x326Police investigating last week’s fatal road crash on the outskirts of Derry which claimed the life of an elderly man have revisited the scene.

William Stinson (83) died in Altnagelvin Hospital from injuries he sustained in the two car collision which occurred around 11.15am on Glenshane Road close to Drumahoe on Saturday morning last.

A woman injured in the crash, which involved a grey BMW X1 and a red Chevrolet Matiz, was also taken to hospital for treatment for non life-threatening injuries.

At the scene this morning, police stopped motorists asking them were they in the vicinity at the time of the crash.

They also handed out leaflets appealing for anyone with information to contact on 0845 680 8000 or on the charity Crimestoppers number 0800 555 111.
