Two men are due to appear in court in Derry this morning charged in connection with the hijacking of a van in the city at the weekend which in a man was injured.
Tom Agnew (63) had to received hospital treatment for facial injuries, including a broken cheek bone, sustained in the incident which occurred outside his home at De Burgh Terrace shortly after 10.00am.
He was assaulted after he was approached by two men who drove off in his Peugeot Partner van.
The vehicle was set on fire after it was involved in a collision at Groarty Road a short time later.
The men, both aged 20, are expected to appear at Derry Magistrates Court this morning on a number of charges related to the incident, including causing grevious bodily harm.
