Colmcille minors have progressed to the semi-finals of the Carlin/Duffy cup following their defeat of Pearses at Templemore Sports Complex.
The minors turned in an impressive performance.
Colmcille’s management were particularly pleased to see the team dedicate their victory to team-mate, Malachy Campbell who is recovering from serious injury.
Following excellent performances from all involved, particular mention must be made of Harry Curran and Dean Beatie who turned out from Colmcille’s under-16 ranks.
The minor team management is urging all players to attend training in preparation for the semi-final against Foreglen on March 23 next.
Doire Colmcille seniors have also progressed to the semi-final of the Neal Carlin Cup.
Doire Colmcille received a huge boost this week with confirmation of funding of £417,000 for the club’s new changing rooms and meeting facilities.
Social Development Minister, Nelson McCausland said the finance would help the club engage with its catchment area at Colmcille Park.
Colmcille chairman, Mark Higgins said the funding would open up new opportunities in the area.
“This facility is much needed and will meet the needs of many residents living in the outer west neighbourhood renewal area,” he said.
Doire Colmcille’s after-school programme is now in full swing with coaches visiting three local primary schools.
