Northern Ireland Tourist Board (NITB) PR officer Clare McCoy was joined by Clipper Race crew member Conor O’Byrne and Marie Helferty (Visit Derry) to announce the “100 Day Countdown” to the Derry leg of the Clipper Round the World Race.
From 21-29 June next, the city will come alive for the Foyle Maritime Festival to welcome the 12 strong fleet of Clipper 70 yachts, including the Derry “LondonDerry” Doire yacht.
The fleet is currently in Qingdao in China ahead of setting sail for San Francisco this Sunday.
