The security alert in Magherafelt has ended.
Police have described the suspicious object found on Tobermore Road outside the town as an “elaborate hoax.”
British army technical officers, who had been called to the scene, have now left and the road has been reopened to traffic.
During the alert, police sealed off the Tobermore Road between Ballyheifer Road and Glenmaquill Road.
