The Gasyard Centre.
The announcement of £247,300 funding to carry out structural and refurbishment work at the Gasyard Centre in Derry’s Bogside has been welcomed by local Sinn Fein Councillor Patricia Logue.
Cllr Logue said the announcement by Minister for the Department of Social Development, Nelson McCausland was a “good news story” for the greater Bogside and Brandywell area.
She added: “Over the years, the Gasyard has firmly established itself as the heartbeat of the local community.
“This funding for refurbishment scheme will help enhance all the work that goes on there which, in turn, will be improve the lives of the local community and send out a positive image of the area.”
Cllr Logue concluded: “I would like to commend everyone involved in ensuring this very positive outcome.”
