Local people are being urged to Rock the Boat in aid of the Foyle Hospice.
An attempt on a new world record for the number of people in the “dance move” will take place in Derry on Saturday, 29 March next.
The current record stands at 1,700 “rowers” set in Carrick on Shannon.
To register go to Cafe Soul on Saturday between 12.00noon and 4.00pm or outside Iceland and MacDonalds at Foyleside Shopping Centre .
The entry fee is £5 and all money raised on the day will be donated to the Foyle Hospice.
Registrations will also be taken on the day outside the Foyle Hospice Shop in Waterloo Place from 10.00am.
A “warm-up” will take place on the day at 1.00pm with the recording attempt taking place an hour later.
“Rock the Boat” is a disco song by the group Hues Corporation in 1974 and today remains a favourite weddings and parties.
