Doire Colmcille suffered a narrow one point defeat in their first competitive game of the new season, the semi-final of the Neal Carlin Cup.
Colmcillesturned in a spirited performance but came out on the wrong side of a 2-06 to 1-10 scoreline against Glack. While players were disappointed, they can take a pride in their approach to the game.
The fixture saw a return to the colours of a number of older players as well as very encouraging performances from some of the younger members of the team. It should be seen as a learning experience from which Colmcille can go on to greater things.
Everyone at the club was particularly delighted to see Colmcille minor, Malachy Campbell turn up to watch the game. Malachy is recovering from serious illness and it was tremendous to see him back in the fold.
Colmcille’s minors are continuing preparations for the semi-final of the Carlin Duffy Cup. Minor team coaches are appealing to all panel members to attend training in run-in to the fixture.
