The woman, captured on camera being left in a bus lay-by by two police officers while incapacitated, has called for the officers involved to be sacked.
Bridget Mongan, 23, admits being drunk at the time, but said she could have been killed after being left lying in the bus lay-by.
Police Ombudsman Dr Michael Maguire has launched an independent investigation into the incident which occurred in John Street on St Patrick’s Day.
CCTV footage prior to Ms Mongan being left at the bus stop shows her running and trying to get into a police car following the arrest of her boyfriend.
The footage shows her being restrained and falling to the ground and the officers lifting her and laying at the bus stop.
It also shows two men come to her assistance and help her into a nearby business premises.
Ms Mongan, who said she was an alcoholic, told the BBC what happened to her was “totally unacceptable.”
She said she could not remember how she ended up lying on the road.
She added: “I was drunk, yes, but they could’ve at least left me on the footpath. It’s out of order, it’s as simple as that.
“It’s not their job to do that. I cried when I saw the footage. I am a human being you know.
“They should lose their job now. If they did to me, they could do it to everyone.
“I am an alcoholic and I’m not proud of it but they what they done on Monday was unacceptable.”
