AIRTRICITY FIRST DIVISION: HARPS RAMBLE PAST COBH AT FINN PARK

finnharpsFinn Harps continued their excellent start to the new Airtricity Division One season with an emphatic 5-0 victory over Cobh RamHarps almost went ahead in the 10th minute but Ruairi Keating’s effort following a corner was blocked.

Keating almost scored again 10 minutes later when he got on to the end of a Pat McCann pass inside the box but his effort was deflected away for a corner.

The home side took the lead in the 29th minute when James Doherty put the ball in the back of the net following a goalmouth scramble.

Second half goals from Tiofack (48), McCann (66 and 70) and Keating (88) wrapped up a comprehensive victory which sees Harps on top of Division One.

Finn Harps: Winn, Coll (Bonner 74), Cowan, Doherty, P Mailey, McNulty, Bonner (Fisher 82), Funston (J Mailey 74), McCann, Tiofack, Keating. Unused substitutes: Forker, McVeigh, Patton.

Cobh Rambers: Birdsall, Thompson (O’Rourke 40), Hastings, Burns, Bhandarkar (Goldsmith 46), Kenny, Donoghue, Deady, Waters, O’Flynn, Creamer. Unused ubstitutes: Frahill, Carson, Callaghan.
