A man was kicked unconscious by a up to four men in a vicious assault in Derry city centre in the early hours of yesterday morning.
The incident occurred close to Central Library on Foyle Street around 2.00am.
The victim was knocked to the ground, before being knocked unconscious after being kicked about the head and upper body by up to four attackers.
The injured man was taken by ambulance to Altnagelvin Hospital but was later discharged.
A PSNI spokersperson asked anyone with information about the incident to contact the non-emergency number, 101, asking for police at Strand Road, quoting reference number 140 23/03/14.
The spokesperson said, alternatively, callers who do not wish to disclose their details could call the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
