Police in Derry are trying to establish how a man sustained a gash to his back that required hospital treatment.
The man sustained an injury to his head 
and a 2.5 inch gash to his back as he made his way home from a public house in the Creggan area of the city on St Patrick’s Night.
A PSNI spokesperson said saw an incident involving the man is asked to contact the CID at Strand Road on the police non-emergency number, 101 or the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
