Local golf clubs have been urged to be vigilant after three burglary attempts in the North West in the past month.
In the most incident on Monday last, burglars broke into an office at Newtownstewart. Nothing was stolen.
Previous break-ins have taken place at Faughan Valley Golf Club in Eglinton and Strabane Gold Club.
A man was arrested in connection with the Eglinton break-in.
Police believe the incidents may may be connected and those responsible hoped to access to membership fees.
All took place in the early hours of the morning and in each case, offices were entered and ransacked.
Police have now warned local golf clubs not to keep cash on the premises.
A police spokesperson said:“We believe criminals are targeting the clubs because they think that membership fees for the coming season may be on the premises.
“We are advising clubs that they should avoid holding large sums of cash in their premises overnight, but should take it to their bank frequently.”
The spokesperson asked anyone who noticed unfamiliar vehicles or suspicious activity during the early hours at the clubs to use the non-emergency telephone number, 101.
Alternatively, information can be given anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
