The hugely-successful Fleadh Cheoil na hEireann, held in Derry, last summer has been nominated for a prestigious tourism award.
The week-long event, which attracted over 400,000 visitors, has been shortlisted for the Best Event/Festival accolade at the the Northern Ireland Tourism Awards.
The awards are decided by members of the public and Mayor of Derry Cllr Martin Reilly encouraged people to vote.
He said he was delighted the Derry Fleadh – the biggest ever held – had been nominated.
Mayor Reilly said: “The Fleadh Cheoil was a superb event for the city and one of the main highlights of the City of Culture year. The event showcased everything that is good about our city with record numbers of people coming to the city to participate and be part of the celebrations.”
He added: “I am delighted the Fleadh and its organisers and support agencies have been acknowledged in this way.”
