Police in Derry are appealing for information about a city centre assault on a man which is believed to have been a “hate crime” attack.
The man sustained an injury to his face when he was attacked by a group of men at the junction of William Street and Chamberlain Street at around 1.30am on 22 March last after he had walked from a nightclub on Strand Road.
A PSNI spokesperson said the victim “perceives this to be a hate crime.”
The spokesperson asked anyone with to contact police on the non-emergency number, 101.
Alternatively, callers who do not wish to disclose their details could call the Crimestoppers charity anonymously on 0800 555 111.
