Police in Magherafelt are currently attending a report of a suspicious object close to residential premises at the Beagh Terrace, Maghera area this afternoon. 
ATO have been tasked to the scene and a number of homes have been evacuated as a precautionary measure.
The suspicious device was found by a member of the public and they immediately contacted the PSNI.
The PSNI moved swiftly to secure the area and have moved people from their homes close to where the suspicious device was found.
There are no further details at this stage.
