Colmcille’s senior team will play their first game of the new season on Easter Saturday.
Club management wishes the senior team well in what is an important year for the club on and off the pitch.
Training in preparation for the season has been going very well with excellent turnouts and the seniors are on course to build in the improvements made last year.
Despite a battling performance, Colmcille minors were defeated by Faughanvale in the semi-final of the Carlin Duffy Cup. Colmcill competed well but were unfortunate to lose full back Adam McDaid to injury mid-way through the first half. His departure along with injuries to a number of other key players such as Mark Ruddy upset the balance of the side.
However, there were good performances from Damien Watson, Micky McCallion and Matthew McDermott in particular with the whole team working hard until the final whistle.
Colmcille minor, Dean Curran had a good run-out with the county team on Saturday, scoring a point in their game against Antrim.
A number of Doire Colmcille kit bags are available for purchase at £20 each. Further details from club chairman, Mark Higgins.
Training times and venues for all Doire Colmcille club teams for the coming months are as follows:
